For the importer, that container can represent several million dollars in profit. ([link widoczny dla zalogowanych])
Two people were detained in the raid. The value of the seized goods was still being determined on Wednesday afternoon.
Much of that product ends up on the streets of Los Angeles. "We think about four million packs of counterfeit Marlboro were sold in L.A. area last year," said Sutton.
Six million contraband cigarettes have been seized after an international surveillance operation.

Newer deals are more lucrative as American professional soccer is becoming more popular. Mexican food company Bimbo paid $12 million for four years to be on Philadelphia Union jerseys. With Chivas USA signing up with Corona and the Portland Timbers joining Alaska Airlines, over a dozen teams have company names on their jerseys.
Six suspects were interviewed by officials, but no arrests have been made.
Inspectors from the cigarette giant's Brand Integrity Department uncovered the counterfeit sales and then alerted law enforcement. Sutton said that L.A. and New York are the country's top two markets for counterfeits.

A spokeswoman revealed the European Anti Fraud Office (Olaf) played a pivotal role in assisting the Revenue Commissioners in the operation.
Chicago insurance company Aon displaced AIG on the front of Manchester United's famous jerseys with good reason. Manchester has a reported 330 million fans worldwide. Aon will have its name prominently displayed for four years starting in the 2010-2011 season. When the deal was finalized, Aon paid over $128 million for four years worth just to have three letters on an English Premier League team jersey. In case you're doing math, it comes out to $32 million per year.
The suspect admitted to being a heroin addict after a police officer asked him to empty his pockets and he produced a pair of needles, according to reports. The man was also arrested for possession of narcotic paraphernilia,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as was the man's friend,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a 21-year-old man from Westland,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who was waiting for the shoplifter in his car in the parking lot.

Even with these new names in prominent places,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they pale in comparison with European clubs. Because so much money is on the line, it's surprising that the NFL hasn't added sponsors to its game uniforms just yet.
The brands of cigarettes seized were Palace,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Lambert & Butler and Marlboro.
Retailers selling counterfeit cigarettes are also less likely to check the ID of underage smokers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Sutton noted.
The haul was discovered by Customs officers in two commercial vehicles in Coolock,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in north Dublin, earlier today.
The Revenue Commissioners said the consignment arrived into Dublin Port from China and was concealed in a shipment listed as glasswool insulation rolls.
([link widoczny dla zalogowanych]) Police reports also indicate that on Thursday, a 44-year-old female from Canton attempted to steal an ink cartridge from Kmart. As the Major League Soccer season welcomes two new teams in March, there will be more jersey sponsors seen on television. Perhaps the most famous one in America is the Los Angeles Galaxy's Herbalife jersey. Those names on the jersey don't come cheap. In 2007, Herbalife coughed up $5 million for a five-year contract to put their name on Galaxy jerseys.
When a police car arrived on the scene,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the women were leaving the store in a Chevy Trailblazer, according to the report.
