Audemars Piguet was first registered as a trademark in 1882
and seven years later in 1889 Audemars Piguet opened its first branch in Geneva. The company began to create its own
components and assemble its own watches within this factory and quickly became
one of the largest (watch producing) employers in Switzerland.
Audemars Piguet was first conceived however back in 1875
with the meeting of ‘Jules-Louise Audemars’ and ‘Edward-Auguste Piguet’ at ‘Valle
de Joux’ where they both began working as watchmakers.
In the years between 1894 and 1899 Audemars Piguet produced
around 1200 watches and whilst considered a company that produced high prestige
watches much of their success came after the deaths of Audemars and Piguet in
1918 and 1919 respectively.
Audemars Piguet as a company acquired numerous high-profile
customers such as: ‘Tiffany & Co’, ‘Bulgari’ and ‘Cartier’,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who re-branded
