In the interview, the developers insist that they want to focus on character growth, and for players to enjoy the process, which is often tedious in most games. To that end, there will not be experience or levels in Final Fantasy XIV. This is a huge departure from Final Fantasy XI, where leveling is very much a focus. Instead of levels, players will grow naturally through their experiences. Final Fantasy XIV will also expand on the Job System. This clarifies the significance of all the weapons present in the Final Fantasy XIV logo. The game will take place in the region of "Eorzea", but the world itself is referred to as "Haiderin".
