Steve Stuart of San Antonio had to be at Six Flags Over Texas today, not only to celebrate the 50thanniversary season of the Arlington, Texas amusement park, but to be among the first in line to ride what some have termed the most exciting rollercoaster ever built.
“In true Texas style, we’ve gone big!” added Martindale. “From the first breathtaking drop, to the multiple hills and turns with gravity-defying air time, guests will want to saddle up again and again.”

“The fact that this track is so new and so innovative, this is truly a one of a kind ride,” Baldwin added.
“When I first saw it, the new Texas Giant exceeded my expectations,” said Stuart. “Of course roller coaster enthusiast may say it’s not a true wooden rollercoaster anymore, but what really matters is the ride, plain and simple!”
“As we like to say in Texas, this ain’t your Daddy’s ride,” Martindale emphasized.
Even Tim Baldwin, editor of Rollercoaster Magazine agrees.
Baldwin recalls that Six Flags have always been innovative introducing to the world the first log flume ride, first mine train, first loop roller coaster, but the “Texas Giant is there masterpiece.”
“The NEW Texas Giant is Texas through and through. 17-foot-longhorns welcome guests to the ride’s area. Three new trains pay homage to the Lone Star State and the popular 1961 Cadillac Deville; each train has a custom-made “cattle horn” and custom-designed saddle seats. There’s even an oil derrick nestled right in the belly of this wooden beast,” indicates Six Flags literature.
