Clinton police say a 38-year-old woman has stolen more than 80 items from graves GPS Tracker at two local cemeteries.The Clinton woman was arrested and charged on multiple counts of class B misdemeanor theft earlier this week, when an ornament police set up with a tracking device led them to her house. Sgt. Todd Kelly the department received reports of decorative figurines and other items going missing from the Clinton cemetery.“A couple of families, in particular, were putting stuff out for the holidays GPS Tracker and the next day they would be gone,” Kelly said. “We stepped up a little because we thought it was kind of odd the wind would blow these big items away.”The thefts were reported to have been going on in Clinton and Syracuse cemeteries for more than a year. Once police set up an ornament with the tracking device,Hydraulic Hose, the signal led them 8 miles away to the woman’s house, where police found more than 80 other items including statues and plaques.Kelly said the woman, who gave some of the ornaments to family and friends, has been cooperative with police GPS Tracker in recovering the property and said she is sorry.Some of the items have been returned to their owners. Kelly said the woman may be facing more charges as the investigation continues.
